You can host your website with JIJ while another provider handles your domain email. The website move should preserve the mail provider’s DNS records.

What to do

  1. Before changing nameservers, export or record the existing MX and mail-related TXT/CNAME records.
  2. Copy the provider’s current required values into the new authoritative zone if DNS hosting is moving.
  3. Check cPanel Email Routing with JIJ if the domain’s mail is delivered externally.
  4. Test external incoming mail, outgoing mail and website form notifications after the change.

Good to know

Do not replace external MX records with cPanel defaults. An existing Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 subscription remains a separate service.
